Bungsegwon: Merge Puzzle

Merge game devlog: keeping the board clear while aiming

In a physics merge game, you need to see where the next piece can land. Our recent Bungsegwon update focused on reducing the messages that cover the board while you are choosing that spot.

The problem: helpful text could cover the useful space

Combo notices and tool explanations can compete with the board on a small phone screen. If they appear while you are deciding where to drop a piece, the explanation gets in the way of the action it is meant to help. We looked at when and where a message appears, as well as how much it says.

The change: prioritize the board while aiming

The recent changes reorganized message placement and display priority to reduce overlap during aiming. The aim is to keep goals and the next piece readable while leaving room to understand the pile. The image below is a real game screen captured during development verification.

The checks: languages, screen sizes, and touch input

We checked overlapping text and touch behavior in English, Japanese, and Korean across different screen sizes. Passing an automated check is different from showing that real players find a game more enjoyable. This development note covers visibility and input checks, not a measured improvement in fun or retention.

The next step: real playing conditions

We will keep checking whether the board remains readable, whether goals are easy to notice, and whether tools behave as expected on real devices. If a screen feels awkward, email support with your device model, app version, and what you were doing. Hide any personal information in a screenshot before sending it.
